Comedy: An Investigative Report

  • Over The Eight 594 Union Avenue Brooklyn, NY, 11211 United States (map)

There's a secret at the Over the Eight. It's a secret that comedians, bookers and Harold committees, well, let's just say it's one that they don't want you to know. Unfortunately for them, however, world-renown investigative reporter John Ambrosio (amNew York, The Bayonne Weekly) doesn't like secrets.

Join him on Monday, Aug 22 at 9 p.m. as he employs all of his skills as a hardbitten journalist to uncover the real truth in comedy. Watch as five talented-yet-corrupt comedians perform seemingly unrelated comedic sets—all of which are actually part of a grand and nefarious scheme that's being hidden from you, the comedy-loving public.

As you laugh unknowingly or uncaringly at their "bits," like so many braying sheep, Mr. Ambrosio will be busy reporting on the proceedings, paying careful attention for subtle clues about the real nature of the so-called "comedy" happening on stage.

At the end of the show, he'll use this exhaustive reporting to improvise an unflinching, hard-hitting exposé about the untold story of the biggest cover-up in comedy history.
